Behavioural Ecology and Conservation Lab

Welcome to the Behavioural Ecology and Conservation Lab in the School of Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Sydney. Led by Professor Peter Banks, we aim to develop innovative ecologically-based solutions to conservation problems.

Our research is focused across four main areas:

  • Behavioural ecology of alien species
  • Naiveté in predator-prey interactions
  • Chemical communication and signal exploitation in animals
  • Urban ecology

We work on a range of species and undertake fieldwork across Australia in a variety of environments.

We encourage students interested in joining our lab to get in touch to discuss current opportunities.
